PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for providing a movable cover for preventing dispensing action by tampering, in view of the fact that, when a coin-shaped member dispensing apparatus is installed inside a device in such a way that an exit for coin-shaped members faces forward, unnecessary dispensing action of the coin-shaped members could be performed as an illegal operation member inserted from the front of the device is used to operate a passage detecting part in the coin-shaped member dispensing apparatus from the exit, and a technique for determining illegal operation if a detecting switch detects that a state in which the movable cover is retreated from a dispensing passage has continued due to the illegal operation performed with the illegal operation member. SOLUTION: The dispensing part of the coin-shaped member dispensing apparatus is provided with the movable cover which projects to the exit side beyond the passage detecting part to close the exit side, and which is retreated by a coin-shaped member passing normally, and the detecting switch for detecting the retreated state of the movable cover. When the detecting switch continues to operate for a predetermined period of time or more, control is performed to stop the operation of the coin-shaped member dispensing apparatus.
