PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pilot type flow control valve for making a pilot valve fitted in a pilot valve seat in the radial direction to seal water when stopped, while solving the problem wherein the flow control property becomes unstable by a sealed space formed between a seal member and a holding groove. SOLUTION: The pilot type flow control valve comprises the pilot valve seat 37 annularly provided on a main valve 26 with an O-ring 40 and a fitting groove 72, wherein the pilot valve 35 is fitted therein for sealing water when stopped. A communication groove 86 is provided for communicating a space encircled by a groove bottom face 80 and a groove side face 82 of the fitting groove 72 and the O-ring 40 with a flow-out water channel 20b on the secondary side.
