PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To considerably reduce man-hours of the transport and installation using the method of mounting equipment on a steel frame compared with that of the conventional method, and to improve the efficiency of installation by avoiding involvement with other works, thereby reducing the cost of the transport and installation, even in the case of a plant comprising a number of equipment connected in the axial direction with a long total length. SOLUTION: In the method of transport and installation of equipment, equipment of a plurality of numbers such as a turbine and a generator is transported from a manufacturing plant to an installation site such as a power plant and installed in the installation site by mounting and fixing the equipment of a plurality of numbers on the steel frame divided into a plurality of numbers in the axial direction one by one or by every plurality of numbers of equipment to integrally form a plurality of module bodies wherein equipment of a prescribed number is mounted on the divided steel frame, the each module body is transported to the installation site by transportation such as a ship and a vehicle, and the steel frames of each module body are connected and fixed with each other at the installation site.
