<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing unit which has a sealing structure capable of keeping a constant sealing condition for a long time by preventing the reversal of a radial lip in assembling the bearing without enlarging the size in the axial direction. <P>SOLUTION: In the sealing structure arranged on the wheel side, a radial lip Lr is provided at the tip end of a lip seal 10a so as to be assembled in the state that its inside diameter side is brought into sliding contact with a seal sliding surface 4m-2 in the radial direction. A tapered portion Tp is arranged between the seal sliding surface and a rolling raceway groove 4s located on the wheel side so as to assemble the radial lip on the seal sliding surface by guiding the radial lip in assembling the bearing. The tapered portion tiltingly elongates toward the rolling raceway groove such that diameter of the tapered portion gradually decreases. The diameter (outside diameter) Re of its elongated tip end 4e is set to be smaller than the diameter (inside diameter) of the radial lip before assembling. The angle α made by the elongating direction of the radial lip and the tilting direction of the tapered portion is set to be an obtuse angle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
