<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosensitive recording material, which is excellent in water scrubbing resistance under the condition being applied on a heat-shrinkable support (or synthetic paper), highly sensitive, and excellent in chemical resistance and has high productivity. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermosensitive recording material formed by laminating an intermediate layer, a thermosensitive recording layer and an overcoating layer on one side of the heat-shrinkable support, the intermediate layer consists of hollow particles made of a polymer having a cross-liked structure and polyvinyl alcohol including a stylene-butadiene copolymer and a reactive carbonyl group, the void ratio of which is 60-98% and the maximum particle diameter (D100) of which is 5.0-10.0 μm. At the same time, the thermosensitive layer and the overcoating layer include polyvinyl alcohol including the reactive carbonyl group.
