<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing device which can reduce an operational burden, and which minimizes an adverse effect such as restrictions on a design, exerted on the side of a copier body. <P>SOLUTION: The adoption of a multistage planet gear in a drive unit brings about the downsizing of the drive unit and a great reduction in its speed.
