An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce the number of output channels of a data driver by supplying data voltages to liquid crystal cells of odd and even number pixel strings through a data line. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes data and gate lines(S1-Sm/2,G1-G2n), plural liquid crystal cells, odd number pixel string switch elements, and even number pixel string switch elements. The data and gate lines supply data voltages and scan pulses, respectively. The liquid crystal cells include pixel areas defined by the data and gate lines. The odd number pixel string switch elements, which are connected to the data line and liquid crystal cells of odd number pixel strings, are used for supplying odd data voltages from the data lines to the liquid crystal cells of the odd number pixel strings. The even number pixel string switch elements, which are connected to the data line connected to the liquid crystal cells of the odd number pixel strings and even number pixel strings, are used for supplying even number data voltages from the data lines to the even number pixel strings.
