<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst unit which has a catalysis capacity required in quantity, is used for treating gas and the form of which is fixed. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst unit is provided with: a catalytic body which has air permeability and the form of which is fixed/blocked; and a catalyst holding frame body for holding a plurality of the catalytic bodies in such an assembled state that the plurality of the catalytic bodies are arranged as one assembly to two-dimensionally block a flow passage of the gas to be treated or in such a layered/assembled state that the assemblies of the catalytic bodies are arranged to be superposed on one another in two or more stages in the flow direction of the gas to be treated. The catalytic body, the assembly or the catalyst holding frame body are assembled as separable units so that a catalyst can be exchanged.
