<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange an photographing object in a proper position and a proper size according to an photographing angle by a simple operation, and photograph it. <P>SOLUTION: In a digital camera 10, a face image extraction circuit 45 extracts face image data from image data based on an image signal photographed by a CCD (Charge Coupled Device) 32, and transmits them to a system control unit 30. If the face image data are input to a face position determination unit 54 and a face area determination unit 56 of the system control unit 30, a face position to a reference position and a size of the face area to a reference range are determined.
