<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need of signal lines of a flat cable in the communication between a steering switch and an on-vehicle device. <P>SOLUTION: This signal transmission device of a steering device connects the steering switch to the on-vehicle device operated by the steering switch. The signal transmission device comprises a transmission unit fitted to a steering wheel and a receiving unit connected to the on-vehicle device and mounted on a fixed member within the area in which the receiving unit can transmit and receive electromagnetic wave to and from the transmission unit. The transmission unit comprises a coiled antenna, a matching circuit, a radio tag generating an identification information signal to be transmitted to the receiving unit and connected to the matching circuit, and an operating switch connected to the antenna and the radio tag parallel to the matching circuit. The matching circuit is switched between a non-operation and operation according to the close/open of the operating switch to transmit by radio the identification information signal generated by the radio tag to the receiving unit through the matching circuit and the antenna when the matching circuit is operated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
