PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method or the like of manufacturing a crosslinked polyolefin fine porous membrane with little elution of impurities in an ultraviolet crosslinked one, with electrode reaction by the impurities suppressed, with downsizing, weight saving and safety of a battery improved, and capable of suitably being used as a separator for a battery. SOLUTION: The method includes a step A of heating and melting/kneading a resin composition containing a resin component and a solvent, a step B of extruding the obtained molten and kneaded object in a sheet shape and cooling it, a step C of carrying out extension treatment of the obtained sheet-shaped molded body, a step D of carrying out desolvation treatment, a step E of crosslinking by ultraviolet irradiation using an optical initiator, and a step F of removing the optical initiator and a low molecular weight constituent derived from the initiator after the ultraviolet irradiation.
