PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection device for a fuel tank capable of dispensing with snow removal in supplying oil to the tank body installed outdoors or measuring the amount of oil, preventing tampering on oil supply opening, oil meter and the like, and preventing the oil from being stolen from the oil supply opening and the mounting portion of meters, such as the oil meter. SOLUTION: This protection device 10 is placed on a top face 2a of the tank body 2 over between mounting base portions 8, 9 for the oil supply opening 6 and the meters, such as the oil meter 7 and has a roof panel box 11, having an opening portion 12 capable of being opened and closed by a door body 19 on its front face 11a; a roof portion comprising a circular arc-shaped or inclined face inclined backward on its rear face 11b, a fixed frame 13 forming a lower end inner periphery of the roof panel box 11; and mooring members 25, 25 mounted on the fixed frame 13 and, respectively moored on the mounting base portions 8, 9.
