PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is difficult to accurately narrow down desired patent gazettes from retrieved foreign patent official gazettes. SOLUTION: The user of a user terminal 10 retrieves Chinese patent gazettes by performing access to a patent information providing server 20 having a patent information database in which Chinese patent gazettes are stored. Prior to retrieval, the user performs access to the patent information providing server 20, and retrieval reference words and phrases as words and phrases in Chinese which are highly likely to be included in a Chinese patent document to be retrieved and related words and phrases as translations in Japanese are registered so as to be associated with each other. When the retrieved Chinese patent gazettes are displayed on a display device 11, and the registered retrieval reference words and phrases are included in the retrieved Chinese patent gazettes, the related words and phrases associated with the words and phrases are displayed with the Chinese patent gazettes.
