PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system, an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, a program and a recording medium, which is improved in operability by intuitively operating a cursor on a menu screen. SOLUTION: A cursor remote control 120 for moving and deciding, for example, a cursor 132 on a menu screen 130 for an external input apparatus is displayed on a screen of a liquid crystal display connected to a television box. If a direction key or a decision key of an attached remote controller corresponding to a direction key 122 or a decision key 124 of the cursor remote control 120 is operated, an operation signal of a key corresponding to the operation is transmitted to a base station. The operation signal is converted into, for example, a control signal of an infrared scheme, and emitted to an external input apparatus connected to the base station. According to the arrangement, the cursor 132 on the menu screen 130 displayed on the liquid crystal display of the television box is linked to the direction key etc. of the attached remote controller, and is operated.
