A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve a low-grayness representation performance of the display device by generating the different light intensity during first and second sustain periods in respective sub-fields. A plasma display device includes a PDP(Plasma Display Panel)(110), a controller(102), and a driving unit(108). The PDP includes plural first to third electrodes and plural discharge cells. The discharge cells are divided into first and second discharge cell groups. The controller divides one frame into plural sub-fields. At least one of the sub-fields has first and second sustain periods. The driving unit supplies the sustain pulses to the first electrodes, so that the last discharge intensity in the first sustain period is different from the last discharge intensity in the second sustain period.
