<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of rotationally printing a planar object, which is an improvement of a method of printing an object about a rotation axis located vertically with respect to a print surface, by using a print head radially extending from the rotation axis. <P>SOLUTION: According to the method, Cartesian coordinates of each picture element in an original image 1 are converted into polar coordinates to form a first intermediate image which is then at least virtually displayed on the Cartesian coordinates to form a second intermediate image. Then at least part of picture elements of the second intermediate image are expanded or contracted according to radial coordinates to form a third intermediate image, and at least part of picture elements in the third intermediate image are increased in luminosity according to the radial coordinates to form a fourth intermediate image 4. Further a gray gradation raster is superimposed on the fourth intermediate image 4, and adaptation of picture element locations with respect to the gray gradation raster and/or transmission of a gray value or a color value is conducted based on the ratio of the picture elements in a raster field of the gray gradation raster, to thereby form and print a print image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
