<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment capable of further surely detecting the operation of an operation button in operating the operation button by putting a hand or the like over the operation button displayed on a display apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A detector arranged correspondingly to each pushbutton is provided with a time difference filter 75. In the time difference filter 75, a second subtractor 85 finds a difference between an image signal of a past screen read from a peripheral area image memory 84 and an image signal of a present screen and a movement generation quantity calculator 89 calculates first data indicating generation quantity generated in accordance with the size of an area where an object in a peripheral detection area 46 is held.
