<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation system for simplifying the operation of a user. <P>SOLUTION: Each time the execution of a function is instructed, the use frequency of a function operation screen used for executing the function is stored on each of the function operation screens of the lowest layer. Then, when an operation to select one time is continued in a prescribed time or more on the operation menu screen of each layer, a display screen is controlled so as to be made directly transition to the function operation screen of the lowest layer whose use frequency is the highest among the function operation screens of the lowest layer selectable through the selected item based on the stored use frequency of the function operation screen of the lowest layer. Thus, it is possible for a user to make directly transition to the display screen from the operation menu screen of the much higher order hierarchy to the target function operation screen according as the function operation screen is much more frequently used.
