<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas insulated power apparatus which can detect abnormalities of the inside with high sensitivity, and to provide its abnormality detection method. <P>SOLUTION: In the gas insulated power apparatus which contains a conductor 3 in a grounded tank 2, filled with insulating gas 1 in an electrically insulated state and removes decomposed gas of the insulating gas 1 generated in the grounded tank 2, while being adsorbed in an adsorbent 4, the adsorbent 4 is contained in an enclosed container 5 independently of the grounded tank 2, the enclosed container 5 is connected to the grounded tank 2 to are interconnected to the inside of the enclosed containers and to the grounded tank 2.
