<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar system which can diagnose both antenna scanning and a transmitting/receiving section with high reliability and without increasing costs and to provide its diagnostic method. <P>SOLUTION: In a CW mode, a transmission wave fixed at a central frequency is transmitted from a transmitting/receiving antenna 11 toward a protrusion 16. Part of the transmission wave is reflected by the protrusion 16. The transmitting/receiving antenna 11 receives the reflected wave, and a diagnostic signal is detected by a diagnostic signal (Doppler signal) detection BPF 26. A signal processing circuit 29, on the basis of the diagnostic signal, diagnoses whether or not the mechanical scanning of the transmitting/receiving antenna 11 and the transmitting/receiving section (from a modulator 21 to the signal processing circuit 29) are in normal operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
