PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which a configuration to automatically stick a fixing solution only to a place having a toner is employed, position information is not required, and strict adhesion position accuracy is not required as well and therefore, the inexpensive configuration is possible, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped therewith. SOLUTION: The fixing device, which fixes the unfixed toner on recording paper by the toner fixing solution including a softener to soften the toner, includes an atomizer for atomizing the toner fixing solution in the form of droplets, and an electrode to add charges to the atomized droplets. The atomizer sprays the droplets to the unfixed toner on the recording paper and the electrode imparts the polarity reverse from the charge polarity possessed by the unfixed toner to the atomized droplets.
