PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loop-type thermosiphon and a Stirling type refrigerator that improve the cooling efficiency. SOLUTION: The loop-type thermosiphon, in which a shaft center extends in the horizontal direction, while heat is conveyed from a heat source 8, including a radiation face 8a by using a working medium, is provided with a condenser 1, an evaporator 2, a gas tube 3, and a liquid tube 4. The evaporator 2 includes a heat transmitting part 2a, attached to the radiation face 8a of the heat source and exchanges heat with the heat source 8 via the heat transmitting part 2a, to make the working medium evaporate. The condenser 1 arranged in the higher position in the vertical direction above the heat source 8 condenses the working medium evaporated by the evaporator 2. The gas tube 3 connects the evaporator 2 and the condenser 1 together, and feeds the working medium evaporated by the evaporator to the condenser 1. The liquid tube 4 connects the evaporator 2 and the condenser 1 together, and feeds the working medium liquefied by the condenser 1, to the evaporator 2. The evaporator 2 includes a first liquid sump part 5, accumulating the working medium in a relatively lower part, and a second liquid sump part 6 making the working medium accumulate in the relatively upper part.
