<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a normal/reverse rotation oil seal for successfully and continuously sealing a fluid even in the operation of normal/reverse rotation. <P>SOLUTION: The normal/reverse rotation oil seal is formed by vulcanizing a rubber composition containing a 1-100 pts.wt spicular or fibrous filling agent having an aspect ratio of 8 or more per a 100 pts.wt rubber. Since the spicular or fibrous filling agent having an aspect ratio of 8 or more is mixed in the rubber composition to be used for the normal/reverse rotation oil seal, the shaping effect gives deforming resistance to the vulcanized material. Namely, the deformation of the sliding face of the oil seal in the sliding direction is suppressed. Thus, the fluid is sealed and held in a significantly improved manner against the directions of the normal and reverse rotations, as compared with the case of using a material in which the spicular or fibrous filling agent is not mixed, or a material in which filling agent in another shape is mixed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
