<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image of high quality without sacrificing energy saving property even in a high temperature and high humidity environment. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an engine control part 200 driving and controlling at least one of a scanner part, a printer part or an image processing function; and an air conditioner 413 for cooling and dehumidifying the periphery of an image forming part. In an energy saving mode, cooling and dehumidification control is carried out while suppressing power consumption as far as possible in the energy saving mode by supplying power to the cooling and dehumidifying air conditioner 413, shutting off power supply to the engine control part 200, and energizing only minimum necessary parts where a cooling and dehumidifying action is made possible. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
