epsi-IRON OXIDE POWDER HAVING GOOD DISPERSIBILITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic powder of ε-Fe2O3crystal having improved magnetic properties and dispersibility into a liquid or a polymer base material.

SOLUTION: The magnetic powder is composed of composite particles each having Si oxide on the surface of iron oxide including ε-Fe2O3crystal (a crystal wherein a portion of Fe sites is substituted with a metal element M is included) as a main phase. In the magnetic powder, the Si content, expressed by Si/(Fe+M)×100, is adjusted to be 0.1-30 mol%, and when the molar ratio of M to Fe is expressed as M:F=x:(2-x), x is ≥0 and <1.
