PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillator using a compact and inexpensive MEMS vibrator whose temperature-dependency characteristics of frequencies can be corrected with high precision. SOLUTION: The oscillator comprises a vibrator for output which mechanically vibrates, a vibrator for temperature detection which mechanically vibrates, an oscillation circuit for temperature detection which oscillates at the resonance frequency of the vibrator for temperature detection to output an oscillation signal for temperature detection, a temperature compensating circuit which outputs a correction signal based upon the frequency of the oscillation signal for temperature detection, a frequency varying means of varying the resonance frequency of the vibrator for output according to the correction signal, and an oscillation circuit for output which oscillates at the resonance frequency of the vibrator for output to output an oscillation signal.
