PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road information collecting/providing method accurately preparing road traffic information from the road information collected from a preceding vehicle. SOLUTION: Roadside communication devices 22 and 23 or a center device 32 collect road information (operation information, ABS operation information, EPS operation information, and travel information) from a plurality of preceding vehicles 11, and applies statistical processing to the collected road information, thereby preparing the road traffic information reporting the travel caution (an obstruction on a road 16, road surface freeze, or road traffic congestion) in the road section ahead.
