PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine capable of quickly and precisely calibrating air of an air-fuel ratio sensor while a fuel is cut. SOLUTION: This control device of an internal combustion engine detects a concentration of oxygen in an exhaust air with an air-fuel ratio sensor installed in an exhaust pipe of the internal combustion engine, and controls a fuel supply volume based on the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas detected by the air-fuel ratio sensor so as to feedback control the air-fuel ratio. This device comprises scavenging promotion control means 51 for increasing an intake air flow rate of the internal combustion engine while the fuel is cut and promoting the scavenging in the exhaust pipe, and atmospheric air calibration means 52 for calibrating atmospheric air to correct the outputs of the air-fuel ratio sensor after the promotion of scavenging is controlled by the scavenging promotion control means 51.
