PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dephosphorizing method with which use quantity of a flux mainly composed of CaO being a refining agent for dephosphorization is not made excessive and even when the using refining agent for dephosphorization does not contain fluorine, the dephosphorizing treatment of molten iron can be performed in the same efficiency as the conventional method. SOLUTION: In the dephosphorizing method of the molten iron with which the flux mainly composed of CaO is added as the refining agent for dephosphorization, and gaseous oxygen source and/or solid oxygen source are supplied as the oxygen source and the added flux mainly composed of CaO is formed into slag to apply the dephosphorizing treatment to the molten iron; basicity of the dephosphorized slag generated after treating is made≤2.5 and in addition to the flux mainly composed of CaO, a material containing titanium oxide is used as a part of the refining agent for dephosphorization.
