<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can surely set whether shifting to a power-saving mode is performed or warming-up is started, just after a power supply is turned on, according to the intention of a user. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a power supply switch 7; a power-saving key 478 for accepting a power-saving setting instruction for setting to the power-saving mode for reducing the power consumption of an apparatus body, by an external manipulation; an image forming section 412 for forming a toner image on a recording paper; a fixing section 45 for thermally fixing the toner image formed by the image forming section 412 on the recording paper; a heater 453 for heating the fixing section 45; and a power-saving control section 106 for performing shifting to the power-saving mode, when the power supply switch 7 is turned on from off and the power-saving key 478 is depressed and heating a heat roller 452 to a fixing temperature Tt required for fixing the toner image on the recording paper by the heater 453, when the power supply switch 7 is turned on from off and the power-saving key 478 is not depressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
