<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the improvement in the reliability of an image forming apparatus and the reduction of lifetime costs to be born by a user of the image forming apparatus are possible. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes transfer paper detection sensors 110, 111, and a controller 123. When the transfer paper detection sensors 110, 111 are both turned on, the controller 123 judges the transfer paper as super-thick paper, and sets the control conditions of the image forming apparatus to the super-thick paper control. When the transfer paper detection sensor 111 is turned on, and the transfer paper detection sensor 110 is turned off, the controller 123 judges the transfer paper as thick paper, and sets the control conditions of the image forming apparatus as the thick paper control. When the transfer paper detection sensors 110, 111 are both turned off, the controller 123 judges the transfer paper as regular paper, and sets the control conditions of the image forming apparatus to the regular paper control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
