PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a parameter with superior graininess for color separation from a C<SB>0</SB>M<SB>0</SB>Y<SB>0</SB>signal to a CMYK signal. SOLUTION: The method comprises: a starting point setting step (step1-step4) for determining a starting point of a black ink signal on colorless line for every line and a starting point of a black ink signal on two or more hue lines from two or more different hue lines to a black color for every line; and a color separation parameter creation step (step5) for creating a color separation parameter based on the determined starting point are provided. As for the starting point setting step, the starting point is determined in consideration of graininess at the time of image generation of the color on the colorless line (step1, 2), and each starting point on two or more hue lines is determined (step3, 4) in consideration of the graininess at the time of image generation of the color of a hue region, to which each of two or more hue lines belongs.
