PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser light source device that excellently emits a laser beam and can be manufactured at lower cost and in smaller size, and a projector comprising the laser light source device. SOLUTION: A laser light source device 31 that constitutes a projector unit comprises a laser light source 311 that emits a laser beam of a prescribed wavelength, and a wavelength conversion element 312 that converts the oscillation wavelength of the laser beam emitted from the laser light source 311 and emits a laser beam of a converted wavelength. The wavelength conversion element 312 comprises a band-pass filter multilayer film 312B, on the incidence plane thereof, that selectively transmits the laser beam of the oscillation wavelength emitted from the laser light source 311, and a dielectric multilayer film 312C, on the emission plane thereof, that transmits the laser beam of the converted wavelength and reflects the laser beam of the oscillation wavelength. In the band-pass filter multilayer film 312B, the laser beam of the oscillation wavelength is narrow-banded. The narrow-banded laser beam is converted to the laser beam of the converted wavelength by the wavelength conversion element 312, and then the laser beam of the converted wavelength is emitted from the laser light source device 31.
