<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately identify a light source of vehicle and a light source of other than vehicle in a vehicle detection device for detecting a vehicle running with the light turned on. <P>SOLUTION: A control part 10 of a light control device 1 detects the light source from the picked-up image, detects a first coordinate showing the coordinate in the vertical direction of the detected light source, calculates the distance to the light source based on the width or interval of the light source, and detects a second coordinate showing the coordinate in the vertical direction according to the calculated distance based on the preset corresponding data. Moreover, the control part 10 estimates the ground coordinate showing the coordinate of the road ground position of vehicle when assuming that the light source is vehicle based on the horizontal length of the detected light source and the first coordinate, calculates the pitching amount showing the difference between the ground coordinate and the second coordinate in the picked-up image, and judged whether the light source is the light source of vehicle based on the pitching amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
