PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step ladder, which can be folded up into one piece, is opened for standing up by itself and can reliably prevent a lateral movement when in use. SOLUTION: The step ladder 100 is composed in such a way that a pair of ladder bodies 110, 110, wherein a plurality of step treads 121, 122, 123 are rotatably mounted on studs 111, 112 at both sides, are connected rotatably at one end. Also, one end of a bracing 140 is mounted rotatably on the stud or the step tread of 1 while a lifting member 150 is provided on the opposing stud. The other end of the bracing 140 abuts the stud 112 above the up-and-down member 150 and the abutting end is pushed up by the lifting member so as to be pressure-welded against the stud 112. Furthermore, a nut 153 is provided as a lock member for retaining the position of the lifting member 150 in the pressure-welded state. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
