<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop/provide a structure of a slide contact surface in an artificial joint, which is excellent in wear resistance in the artificial joint. <P>SOLUTION: In the artificial joint, a plane part (A) is formed on the surface of the spherical body part (2) of a bone head part (1) and turned to a non-recessed part (3). Also, one, two or more plane parts (A) are formed at the spherical body part (2) of the bone head part (1) and the tangential part (X) of the periphery of the plane parts (A) and the bone head part (1) is formed in a rounded or planar state or a state close to them.
