PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, image processing method, program therefor and recording medium with the program recorded thereon where the computational complexity in distortion correction can be reduced. SOLUTION: When performing distortion correction upon an image in a selected region selected in an image as a whole over a wide field of view, coordinates (x, y) of a point (p) coordinate-calculated by the distortion correction processing are frequently real numbers that include decimal points. When pixel data of four points (luminance data (Y data) of the four points and color difference data (CrCb data)) are read out, the luminance data of the point (p) are subjected to linear interpolation, and the color difference data are used, as they are.
