PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder pressure detection device for an internal combustion engine capable of accurately detecting cylinder pressure without receiving influence of change in atmospheric pressure even if the atmospheric pressure changes. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a cylinder pressure sensor 11 detecting pressure in a cylinder 3a as detected cylinder pressure PCYLT, a motoring pressure estimation means 2 estimating pressure generated in the cylinder 3a in a non-combustion condition as motoring pressure PCYLMDLE, an atmospheric pressure detection means 16 detecting atmospheric pressure PA, a motoring pressure correction means 2 correcting the motoring pressure according to atmospheric pressure PA, a correction parameter identification means 2 identifying correction parameters K1, C1 to minimize difference between the detected cylinder pressure PCYLT detected in compression stroke and the corrected motoring pressure PCYLMDLK, and a cylinder pressure correction means 2 calculating cylinder pressure by correcting the detected cylinder pressure PCYLT by the identified correction parameters K1, C1.
