PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power amplifier capable of achieving high saturation output, high efficiency, and low distortion, and to provide a portable telephone terminal using the power amplifier. SOLUTION: The power amplifier comprises: a first power amplifier 40 for amplifying a main input signal; a second harmonic generator 10 that branches one portion of the main input signal as input and outputs second harmonics; a phase shifter 20 for adjusting the phase of the second harmonics; a first adder 30 for adding the branch signal of the main input signal to the output of the phase shifter 20 for output; a second power amplifier 50 using the first adder output as input; and a second adder 60 for adding the output of the first and second amplifiers 40, 50 mutually for output.
