PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video entryphone system that allows to surely record the visitor's video image even in a short recording time. SOLUTION: An entrance slave unit is provided with a camera and a human detection sensor. A living-room master unit is provided with a DRAM for temporarily storing imaged video images of the camera, a flash memory for finally storing the imaged video images, and a timer for clocking an imaging time. When the human detection sensor senses a visitor (S1), a master-unit CPU starts the camera (S2) so as to temporarily store the video image in the DRAM (S4). When a call button is depressed, the master-unit CPU goes back a prescribed period of time and reads out video images imaged during a period until the call button is depressed, from the DRAM so as to finally store them in the flash memory (S6).
