PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for a cover member hardly coming off of a packing from a groove in a step part while improving efficiency of work of attaching the packing to the groove in the step part formed stepwise. SOLUTION: In a timing belt cover 20 attached to an engine block 5, and formed with the step part 28 on one part of a faying surface 23 (an upper end face) with the engine block 5, a first protrusion 25 with a substantially rectangular cross section extending in a step direction (a vertical direction B) of the step part 28, is formed on a side wall 24c in the step part 28 of the groove 24 fit with the corded packing 40 for sealing extended on the faying surface 23 (the upper end face).
