PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the complete winding of a screen 5 in a winding mechanism by banishing wrinkles of the screen 5 by simple operation even if the screen wrinkles upon winding the screen 5. SOLUTION: In the horizontally sliding screen door, the screen 5 is opened and closed by moving a moving rod 6 right and left. Upon the winding of the screen, when the force applied to upper and lower ends of the moving rod is not balanced and the moving rod is inclined right and left forming wrinkles of the screen due to the inclination, the end 31a of a guide body 31 on a pulled side swings and absorbs a pulling force. Consequently, a large friction force is not generated on the screen 5 and the guide body 31. When the moving rod is moved to the side of the winding mechanism, the moving rod 6 pushes down the end 31a of the guide body, and the winkles of the screen are extended by the pushing-down operation. The screen with the extended wrinkles is wound by the winding mechanism. A point of the application of a restoring force of the coil spring applying the winding force of the screen is positioned at the longitudinal center of a stile 10, so that the restoring force may be applied evenly over the whole length of the screen winding cylinder 11 to smoothen winding operation.
