PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an efficiency of melting an added additive in molten zinc and the quality of the molten zinc in which the additive has been added, by more surely melting the additive added into the molten zinc in a shorter time than that in a conventional method and uniformizing it in the molten zinc. SOLUTION: An apparatus 2 for melting the additive is structured so as to have a channel 8 for passing the molten zinc (L) therein, and an adding section 25 for adding the additive (A) into the molten zinc (L) which passes through the channel 8. In addition, a gate 26 (27) provided with an aperture is installed in the channel 8 and the dimension of the aperture is set on the basis of the length of the channel 8 which is arranged in a downstream of the gate 26 (27).
