PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aerator which increases the contact chance of a pollutant with air to increase the contact time of the pollutant with air and enhanced in treatment efficiency. SOLUTION: The aerator has a plurality of slime feed pipes (152) and the high pressure air piping (151) meeting with a plurality of the slime feed pipes (152) at the same place (Px). The respective slime feed pipes (152) communicate with an aeration tank (5) in the vicinity of the bottom part thereof through slime feed devices (154), and the high pressure air piping (151) communicates with an air supply device (153) and the end part on the side of the aeration tank (5) of the high pressure air piping (151) ejects a mixed flow of slime and air into the space above the slime storing region in the aeration tank (5).
