PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing ethanol from a biomass. SOLUTION: The method for producing the ethanol by using a lignocellulose-based biomass as a raw material, and carrying out a part or the whole of culturing, saccharifying and fermenting processes of saccharogenic amylase-producing microorganisms in the same vessel includes the following steps: preparing fine powder by subjecting the lignocellulose-based biomass to finely grinding treatment; culturing the microorganisms producing the saccharogenic amylase in a liquid medium containing cellulose or the like as a carbon source to induce/secrete the saccharogenic amylase and to prepare a culture liquid containing the saccharogenic amylase, regulating the temperature of the obtained culture liquid in the same vessel so as to match the set reaction condition of the saccharogenic amylase, carrying out the saccharification treatment under the set reaction condition by using the culture liquid, and converting the obtained saccharified liquid into the ethanol by adding a yeast and carrying out alcohol fermentation.
