<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve contract of a liquid crystal device. <P>SOLUTION: Transmissivity to an optional angle θ is increased with the increase of a retardation value Re, that is, with the increase of tension applied to a TAC layer in uniaxially orienting the TAC layer used for a protective film. As a result, the transmissivity in the black display of the liquid crystal device is increased to lower the contrast relatively. Since it is advantageous for the manufacture of the polarizing plate when the angle θ is made large within an allowable range of transmissivity, in other words, an allowable range of contrast, the angle θ is previously measured and the TAC layer having a retardation value settled within the allowable contrast range according to the angle θ is used as the protective film 205 in the polarizing plate 200. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
