PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display system and an information display unit capable of quickly dealing with position abnormality of the display unit. SOLUTION: An information display system includes a radio relay device 3 for transmitting article information of an article as a radio signal, a radio transmission device composed of a loop antenna 4 and an information display unit 2 detachably attached to a portion of an article display rack where the article is exhibited, for receiving article information transmitted from the radio transmission device 3 as the radio signal and displaying the article information. Particularly, the information display system is further equipped with a monitoring section including a metal detecting portion 55 and an alarm portion 56 for monitoring the movement of the information display unit 2.
