<p>A credit or debit card comprising an indication of a value associated with the card, identification means for identifying an authorised user of the card and age verification means provided visibly on the card for verifying the age of the authorised user. The indication of a value can comprise a means for storing an indication of a debitable amount, an indication of a credit limit and/or access information based on which a data connection between a card reader and a bank account can be established. The age verification means may comprise an indication of the date of birth of the card holder, an indication of a minimum age the card holder has exceeded and/or of an age the card holder had not reached at the date of issue of the card. An age verification code may also be printed on the back of the card.</p>
