PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent defocusing and hunching resulting from the careless movement of a focus lens, regarding an automatic focusing device wherein an AF control is performed with the combination of a TV-AF system and another AF system. SOLUTION: When the focusing direction by the TV-AF system (AF estimation value increasing direction) and the focusing direction by the automatic focusing method other than the TV-AF system match with each other, the focusing lens is moved to a position regarded as the in-focus position obtained by the automatic focusing method other than the TV-AF system.
