PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the grayscale number of a substantially displayed image decreases owing to gradation conversion since the lightness of a displayed gradation of a color sequential image display device is linearly proportional to a reflection time of light. SOLUTION: A low-gradation part of an image of at least one color among images of a plurality of colors sequentially displayed to form a color image is displayed with light having first lightness (GL), and a high-gradation part is displayed by putting together the light having the first lightness and light having second lightness (GH) lighter than the first lightness.
